 QCDR-HISP Support & Development

The goal of our QCDR-HISP Support & Development series is:

  • Accelerate your registry's multi-jurisdictional compliance
  • Leverage QCDR-HISP to save time and resources.
  • Enable your organization to install, develop and maintain code for the QCDR-HISP platform
  • Establish a support network with developers & staff of other Registries to optimize development
  • Reduce duplication of effort by helping to plan QCDR-HISP distributed development as it relates to registries.
  • To facilitate the process of smoothly integrating Open Source QI software into your Registry

We anticipate that not all attendees will have the same needs or background; therefore we have designed a tiered workshop series to enable you to learn the knowledge you need.

------------------------------------------

Descriptions: QCDR-HISP Workshops

Administrative course

These courses review cover subjects such as:

  1. A roadmap for QCDR-HISP modules, their relationships, and their functions
  2. How each module communicates with each subsystem
  3. Documentation, including forums, Githubs, and other useful sources
  4. Demonstration websites
  5. Strength and weaknesses of the current software versions

The goal of this workshop is for the attendee to have the necessary knowledge to understand the function of all module and the skill set inventory necessary to administer and update the QCDR-HISP code demonstrated in the workshop.

QI101 - QCDR-HISP Integration

Attendees: Administrators and programmers who are evaluating or plan to integrate QCDR-HISP into their QCDR development cycle to support a fully compliant QRDA based registry.

Overview: To create a functional QCDR IT platform, many Open Source modules must be integrated, including QCDR-HISP modules that have well developed interfaces to merge into the needs of your registry.  This workshop details the functions and interfaces of each module.   QI201 Description

Each of the modules described in this course has its own workshop for your programming team to accelerate your time to market; these workshops are designed to establish procedures for installing, configuring, optimizing and maintaining each component.

Technical course series (Course numbers #2xx)

These courses review hands-on practices to cover:

  1. Inventory and download locations of required components
  2. Installation and configuration procedures
  3. Daily labs to test and apply useful concepts
  4. Debug procedures, including test procedures, and location and analysis of logs

The goal of each technical (Course numbers #3xx) workshop is for the attendee to walk out at the end of the week with QI functional module installed on your laptop that is ready to be modified for your particular application.

QI201 - Linux QI system platform for Windows developers
                   -
QI Development platform Tools & Techniques

This workshop is for Windows developers that must accelerate their learning of Linux development processes.  It enables you to fast track in becoming proficient in installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering Linux servers as used by QCDR-HISP, including all of the ONC and VA software.  QI201 Description

Intended for Windows developers that have background in SQL and HTML Web development.  QI202 Description

This is for developers that need to brush up on their skillset for the new implementation technologies; ONC modularized QI software by using new software technologies such as Ruby on Rails, and Mongo.   Much time will be spent on focus of leveraging the builtin abilities for embedded error codes and increasing throughput by applying sharding that far surpasses the performance of traditional SQL healthcare implementations.

QI301 -  QCDR-HISP - QRDA Engine

This workshop covers the QRDA processor PopHealth, commonly used for State health QI Initiatives.   This includes the platform requirements (Ruby on Rails, Mongo, Ubuntu) , installing, configuring, optimizing and maintaining all necessary subsystems for proper function.  The interface with the National Library of Medicine (NLM), including obtaining a NLM account from the VSAC service account and downloading the current eCQM measure set.

QI311 -  QCDR-HISP  - DaX - Data Availability and Integration

Cost effective data acquisition that is HIPAA secure is the crux of the QRDA system.  Although MU3 will force data formats to evolve to a common ground, many providers will still provide incomplete or inaccurate data.  We will cover the staged processes to engineer an orderly sequence to establish a secure data validation process.

This module goes into detail of the various operational retrieval methods, how to deal with different platforms (i.e. Windows), and how to make a lightweight process to minimize the impact on your providers.  Included is using the QCDR-HISP 'Cypress' to translate and validate data. QI330 Description

See Schedule & Locations here.   Register here.

QI321 - QCDR-HISP  - QRDA Custom Measure creation & testing

This workshop covers BONNIE, which is the test bench used to establish an ordered process of creating or updating a custom measure.  A broad set of measure parameters are covered that integrate into custom healthcare performance measures.

This workshop will cover the platform requirements (Ruby on Rails, Mongo, Ubuntu) , installing, configuring, optimizing and maintaining all necessary subsystems for proper function.  QI320 Description
